The Barns at Alderlee
Marrying 17th century charm with 21st century comfort, the Barns at Alderlee have been skilfully transformed by local craftspeople that hold their hearts in the past but their minds in the future. Nestled in the verdant Meerbrook Valley, on the edge of the
Peak District
, our former working farm takes full advantage of its precious location. Just a short stroll away from Tittesworth Water with its many water based activities such as: kayaking, canoeing and raft building. There is a visitor centre with lunchtime restaurant and a fantastic adventure playground to ensure a goodnight sleep for the children. From most bedroom windows the dramatic
Roaches Rocks
stand magnetically, inviting to be explored by climbers and walkers alike. Nearest golf club in Leek - 4 miles.
Fishing - Rudyard Lake 3/4 miles
A short drive away is the spa town of
Buxton
with it's spectacular
Opera House
and renowned fresh water spring, or why not try the Moorland market town of Leek with its myriad antique shops. For the young and young at heart there is always the lure of
Alton Towers
which is less than half an hour’s drive away. Only a five minute walk, our local village pub The Lazy Trout, serves traditional ales and home cooked food in front of a warm welcoming fire in the cooler months or when the sun is shining, in the garden with the Roaches as a stunning backdrop.
With each barn having its’ own individual character and appeal there is something for everyone at Alderlee. Perfect for a special get together of family or friends the Barns can be booked separately or together to accommodate up to 33 guests:
