There are ten self catering properties within the Walcot Hall Estate which are available for self-catering holiday letting and will accommodate up to 61 people. All apartments have an abundance of character and contain an eclectic mix of antiques, warm contrasting soft furnishings and characterful beds.

We could not think of a better location for our self catering holiday apartments than the beautiful Shropshire hills, not far from the Welsh border.

Prices:

Prices are dependent on apartment and season, and range from £210 per weekend up to £620 for the week - again dependent on apartment.
 

Apartment information:

Chapel has two bedrooms and is secluded within the stunning arboretum. Saved from destruction, lovingly re-assembled and embellished by the finest woodworkers of the west, the chapel stands serene and sublime amongst the English oaks and chestnuts of the Walcot Arboretum. It is for the more adventurous and agile, accessible on foot via a 500 yard meander from the stable block and car park. 

Harold sleeps 4 (one double + one twin) and is situated on the ground floor within the old stable block. It has a cosy lounge, leading into the spacious and airy kitchen/dining room which is equipped with a dishwasher, fridge, microwave, Rayburn and TV and dvd player. It is centrally heated throughout and has a wood burning stove in the lounge. It has two bedrooms, one double and one twin room. The bathroom has a bath and overhead shower.

It has two garden areas, one to the rear of the house, which is totally enclosed, the second area to the side which adjoins the Clive apartment making it ideal for two families wishing to holiday together. 

Clive is an enclosed holiday apartment situated on the ground floor within the old stable block. It has a patio area leading off from the kitchen, with plenty of space for children to play. Sleeps 4-6 (two bedrooms + sofa bed).

A dining area is within the spacious living room, which has an elegant fireplace, ornate ceiling and richly upholstered furniture. The apartment is centrally heated and has wooden floors throughout.

Quinton is a charming two-bedroom apartment situated on the first floor, with a fairly steep staircase leading up from the entrance porch.

One bedroom has a king-size bed and the other is a family room with double bed and two single beds. Both rooms have wash hand basins and are very spacious. The kitchen is fully equipped for six guests and includes a microwave and dishwasher.

Arcot is a light and sunny apartment on the ground floor of the clock tower building. It is a one-bedroom apartment with a splendid view from the living room overlooking the gardens and Arboretum.

The cosy living room has a wood-burner and is furnished with a four-foot wide sofa bed, two armchairs, a piano, colour television, dvd player, C.D player and a variety of books. The bedroom has a double bed and sufficient bedding for the additional sofa bed, should it be required.

Arni is situated on the south east corner of the hall, with views overlooking the ballroom and the gardens to the rear of the hall. Arni is the only second floor apartment that is self contained. It has two twin bedrooms and will sleep 4 guests

The galley kitchen is compact with its own dining area, although there is another table in the living room, which could be used for dining. The sitting room is entered through one of the bedrooms and is a large room with windows on three walls. It has a wood-burning stove and is a delightful room for a quiet evening or a gathering with friends or family.

Plassey sleeps up to six and is situated to the rear of the Walcot estate. This apartment is within the old stable block. It has high ceilings, grand windows, an open plan layout and under-floor heating, which makes it a very pleasant apartment to visit whatever the season.

The large kitchen/dining room has marble flooring and features a Yew dining table, which will seat 10-12 guests. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washing machine.

Berkeley, sleeping up to six, is housed in the west wing of Walcot Hall and as such has a linear layout with its own private entrance.

Berkeley is a beautiful apartment with tall windows and ceilings and is centrally heated throughout. One twin bedroom leads from the entrance hallway, then all other rooms run from a single corridor.

Montfort is situated on the second floor at the south-east corner of the Hall, Montfort has 2 twin bedrooms to comfortably sleep a family of 4.

The living area has a wood-burning stove and with it’s adjoining kitchen it is a light, inviting room, with windows overlooking the lake. In addition to the bathroom, there is a shower room easily reached from both bedrooms.

Styche is located on the west of the Hall on the second floor. This apartment has 2 large family bedrooms that sleep up to 10 guests. The Rebecca bedroom has one double bed, one single bed and bunk beds with a double on the bottom and a single on the top. The Richard bedroom has one double and two single beds. Both rooms have wash hand basins.

The kitchen and adjoining living area is cosy, warmed by a wood-burning stove and has views over the lakes through the parapet walls. The bathroom has a bath with overhead shower and screen.

The Dipping Shed is a stunning and secluded rural retreat situated just off the drive to Walcot Hall. In an elevated position, access by foot involves a climb up a steep path and a flight of steps to stay in this delightful hunting lodge.

It is a converted timber building with an open plan layout, which, includes a kitchen, reception hall, dining room, living room, bathroom and double bedroom. Above the kitchen is a second double bedroom on a mezzanine floor reached by a sturdy ladder staircase.
